In my own opinion abortion is an inhumane practice, from the statistics provided over 4,000 children’s lives are destroyed in the name of choice every day, and at the same time over 4,000 women are emotionally damaged each day. If a woman has been raped, is abortion the only answer? If it is, she should think about her own life and the after effects that it will have on her.

  1. "From the statistics provided, 4,000 embryos lives have ended in the name of choice daily." But what if the woman didn't abort, how would the life of the child's be? Perhaps a life of suffering, a life of neglegence, a life of foster homes which may lead to a life of criminal activity? If a woman isn't prepared to bring up a child, and teach the child right from wrong, she should have the right to abort. In my opinion, women should have the right to choose.

    1. There are always adoption centers ready for handling those babies. :) it's better not to have abortion since it's killing a living soul.

  2. Although you do support your points with great examples, i still stand with tylee on being Pro-Choice if its a choice made for the benefit of the child.

But i really enjoyed reading your essay!

  3. Enjoyed reading your essay :)
"If a woman has been raped, is abortion the only answer?" It is hard to say yes or no straight away. It depends on one's choice..
But in this case, I think abortion is not a bad way.

  4. Hey Samantha!
Thank you for your comment on my blog. To show my appreciation I came to comment you back. :)
I find your topic very interesting, especially because my aunty just went through an abortion herself. I heard that the babies can feel from 6 weeks and I thought that was sad. This topic is a hard one to answer to for me. If a mother cannot afford to raise a baby or have some special circumstances, I think abortion should be allowed. But then for the baby's sake, I think it is just inhumane.
    Good arguments, well done :)

  5. flip! good topic to choose! honestly, i couldnt say i knew very much about this whole topic before. abortion is kinda seen as an almost taboo. so its good to get someones point of view. i do agree with you though that abortion isnt right. you treat the cause not the after effects. be more strict on contraception or whatever than promote abortion i say.

  6. Being a parent is hard but having to choose to NOT to be a parent is even harder! NO one can really say that 'abortion' is a choice because the person that had to go through the experience of 'terminating' a life, the emotional trauma and the long term psychological effect will not be felt until after (the abortion), when, whatever amount of regret she has, it cannot be undone.

Even a mother for whatever reason cannot raise a baby herself, abortion might be the (logical) choice for her then and there. But given time, she will regret that logic.

I agreed with Laurene, the society should do all they can to help "treat the cause" in order to reduce the possibility of women needing abortion.
